Aneo Vind took over full-service responsibility for the Roan wind farm from Vestas in February. During 2024/2025, the renewable energy group will become a full-service operator for several parks in the Midgard portfolio.

The takeover as a full-service operator at the Roan wind farm marks the beginning of implementing a larger strategy to become a complete full-service operator for wind farms.

– We are now doing as we have said, taking over the delivery of most technical services to the Roan wind power plant. I am pleased that our technicians have shown that we were ready for this job. We are confident that this will strengthen our role as an industrial growth company, says CEO of Aneo, Gunnar Hovland.

Building a strong professional environment for profitable growth

The employees at the Roan wind farm took over responsibility from Vestas on February 8, after several years of preparation. Local work and adjustments at Roan have been done with good support from the engineering community at Aneo's headquarters in Trondheim.

– With this, we ensure local presence of competent technicians in the wind farms, and together with skilled engineers, it gives us an opportunity to achieve a quicker response in emergency situations and in handling technical faults, which will in turn contribute to strengthening both reputation and value creation. In the first few weeks, we have focused on testing operations, and we see that this is working as planned, says Børre Sivertsvoll, head of operations unit at Aneo.

Aneo also believes they are strengthening their own competitive advantage by taking over the operation of the wind farm.

"We are now strengthening our competitive advantage as a supplier of services to wind power plants by being able to build an even stronger professional and operational environment. This will also help provide us with a good foundation for profitable growth – both in Trøndelag and in Scandinavia as a whole," says Gunnar Hovland.

Taking over the operation of several wind power plants

In addition to the takeover in Roan, Aneo will also take over full-service agreements from Vestas for other wind power plants in the Midgard portfolio during 2024/2025. The Frøya wind power plant on Frøya and the Hundhammerfjellet wind farm in Nærøysund are the next parks the renewable energy company will take over full-service responsibility for.

– We know that local presence is appreciated by other players, both industrial and financial partners, but also by our host communities, concludes Hovland.
